About Me

Hello!

My name is Håvard Nilsen (a.k.a. Klatremus), and I’m the author of this web site. I’m a 28-year-old Norwegian high school science teacher, and obviously an eager Thief player. At the moment I reside in Phoenix, Arizona, working as a teacher and spending time with my lovely fiancée Kelly. Although born in Stavanger, I’ve lived most of my life at the island of Hidra just outside Flekkefjord town in the southernmost part of Norway. Our island has about 600 inhabitants and has depended on fishing since people first settled there. While wet and windy in the winter, Hidra’s population doubles in the summer, as beautiful weather and gorgeous nature draw tourists from all over to this paradise on Earth.

I started playing Thief: The Dark Project not long after its release. I quickly saw a quality and unique game style unlike anything I’d seen before, but for some unknown reason, I didn’t get that kick while playing it at first. Not until a year later, I realized the immense atmosphere it provided and the extraordinary feel it gave me, especially among the undead. I remember being so scared first time playing Cragscleft Prison; venturing through those lower mines made my heart skip a beat on more than one occasion. Soon after this I bought Thief Gold, and decided to play through all the missions. Unfortunately, I didn’t have the same principles about walkthroughs then as I do now. When stumped, I simply read Taffer’s Walkthrough for the given mission, and that was it. From ‘the Sword’ through ‘the Maw of Chaos’ I ended up playing step by step from the solution. So much for that game! Fortunately, I couldn’t remember much of the missions, so supreme ghosting TG recently definitely gave me the experience I should have had the first time.

Except for playing Thief, my work naturally takes a lot of time. Other than that, I love to play football (soccer), something I’ve been doing since the age of seven. I also enjoy hiking and camping trips. Outside of this I spend most of my time with family and friends.

I would also like to thank you for visiting my web site, and for showing some interest in reading about me. Basically, I’m just an ordinary guy who happens to love Thief!
